Torstein Dalen-Lorentsen is the research manager at SINTEF Digital and leads the Health and Performance Technology research group. Torstein has extensive experience from elite sports, having worked in German handball, with the Norwegian national alpine teams, national football teams, as well as teams in both the Toppserien and the Eliteserien in football. Torstein works closely with the innovation districts and is a co-organizer of the Impact Breakfast and Meet the Scientist events
Education
Torstein has a master's degree in sports physiology and biomechanics from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences from 2014, as well as a PhD in sports medicine from the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center at the Norwgian School of Sports Sciences from 2021.
Competence and research areas
Physical performance, injury prevention, physical activity, training, digital supervision, research methodology, digital ergonomics, implementation. Particularly interested in how technology can be used to improve both health and performance.
