Abstract
The most helpful data for fishing fleets in different countries in the European Union were found in the EU-stat register of fisheries: http://ec.europa.eu/fisheries/fleetstatistics/index.cfm?lng=en The table below show the total EU fishing fleet (27 nations) comprises near 86 000 vessels in 2008. Norway, Iceland and Faeroe Islands are not included in all this statistics.
