Abstract
Corrosion of painted aluminium requires the presence of chloride and high humidity Acetic acid salt spray (ASS) testing is used to qualify coil coated aluminium for outdoor exposure Usually, quite different corrosion morphologies are obtainedMainly blistering in ASS Blistering and filiform corrosion creep during outdoor exposure Conclusions Only a limited parameter study on a limited range of substrate/coating systems has been performed However, the test provided a relevant performance ranking of the different materials in a manner that reflected durability under service conditions Reproducibility of the test results was good, based on comparison of the reference samples included in all test runs
