Abstract
Our understanding of decisions in bottom-up information infrastructure innovation is justified in
incumbent firms is limited. Through a case study of an incumbent bank transforming towards a
bottom-up approach to innovation, we find that bottom-up organisation involves several different
forms of justification. We discuss how pragmatic justification offers an interesting analytical lens on
