Reservoir monitoring using Seismic, Electromagnetics, gravity, and surface deformation

Abstract

The presentation focuses on the ACT4 SPARSE project, which aims to develop a low-cost, long-term geophysical monitoring system for CO₂ storage sites. It integrates seismic, electromagnetic, gravity, and surface deformation data using sparse node-based monitoring to ensure containment and conformance. is led by SINTEF and involves collaboration between research institutes, industry partners, and operators from Norway, Canada, USA, UK and France. Key outcomes include designing monitoring geophysical node based monitoring techniques for node-based sparse monitoring, quantifying conformance parameters, and testing deployment technologies for practical implementation.
